Mell Containers
1. What types of containers can I rent from Mell Containers?
You can rent secure containers for storing your personal or business belongings. Containers are designed for storage only and cannot be used for living purposes, or for storing flammable, perishable, or hazardous materials.
2. How long is the minimum rental period?
The minimum hire period depends on your agreement, but is typically set at a certain number of weeks or months. After the initial period, the rental agreement will automatically renew on a month-to-month basis unless you give 14 days' notice before the end of the current term.
3. How do I access my container?
You can access your container during the allowed hours, which are set by Mell Containers. Only authorised persons (in writing) will be permitted to access your container. Be sure to check our latest regulations for exact access hours.
4. What can I store in my container?
You can store personal or business items, but storage of the following is prohibited:

Perishable goods, animals, flammable materials, or explosives

Any items that emit odours or are excessively heavy

Items that breach any laws or could cause damage
5. Do I need insurance for my stored items?
Yes, it is mandatory for you to have insurance covering the full value of your stored goods. Mell Containers does not provide insurance, and we are not liable for any loss or damage. You must provide proof of insurance when requested.
6. What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment, you will be charged a late payment fee of 10% of the monthly hire charge, with a minimum of £10. If the payment remains outstanding, Mell Containers may restrict access to your container, and if payments continue to be unpaid, your belongings may be removed or sold to cover costs.
7. Can I terminate my agreement early?
You can terminate your agreement with at least one month’s written notice. However, if you owe any outstanding fees or are in breach of the terms, you cannot terminate until these issues are resolved.
8. What security measures are in place at the storage site?
Our site is monitored by CCTV surveillance, but you are responsible for securing your own container with a padlock. Mell Containers is not liable for any breaches of security or unauthorised access.
9. What happens if I fail to remove my goods after termination?
If you do not remove your belongings within seven days of termination, Mell Containers may treat your property as abandoned. We reserve the right to dispose of or sell the items to cover any outstanding fees.
10. Can Mell Containers move my items to a different container?
Yes, Mell Containers reserves the right to move your items to another container within the facility with at least seven days' notice. The new container will be of comparable size, and the terms of your agreement will remain in effect.
